Hi Everyone

My COPR expires in August this year. Assuming Corona situation goes away in next 2 months, I have to go for soft landing via flight from U.S to Canada around June, and come back to U.S. How much time does it usually take for the PR card to arrive at Canadian address. If it takes 2 months to arrive, and within those 2 months(from June to August), I have to commute from U.S to Canada daily via road(Detroit to Windsor), will it be possible to do so without PR card? I read somewhere that PRTD can be applied for, but is it only for urgent cases? I also read somewhere that for road travel from U.S to Canada, neither PR card, nor PRTD is required. Can someone shed some light regarding this?
Thanks

So others can comment as well but to answer first question a PR card without the current emergency is estimated currently to take around 13 days plus mail time although there is no committed time plus probably a lot longer currently. Who knows how long the current emergency will continue, hopefully less severe by summer and hopefully cross border restrictions such as essential travel only will be relaxed by then.

Sure people without a current card cross the land border using just their COPR/passport but not suggested as a regular option given CBSA will at some point insist you have proper documentation. If you needed a PRTD that can only be applied for from outside Canada, not really classified as urgent but for anyone who does not have a PR card to hand.

What passport do you hold, a US or other , I am assuming the latter?
