Hi,

my parents landed in Toronto at Jun 14 2013 and went back to China at June 12 2014, and returned back to Toronto at June 26 2017 and will stay here till August 2018. Their PR card expired on August 2018. so they stayed in China for more than 1095 days. I am wondering if they have problem when renew the PR card? when is the best time to submit the application?

thanks a lot

Anita

1. Don't renew until June/2019 when they have 730 days of residency in the past 5 years. If they renew sooner, there is a good chance they will be reported.

thanks for your reply, if renew at Jun 2018, is it chance renewal will be rejected? as my parents need to go back to china in Sept 2018.

If they try to renew in June 2018, they are guaranteed to be refused since they won't meet the residency requirement.

hi Scylla, how about one month later like July 2018, as my parents will miss 20 days. thanks for your reply!!

They will still be refused.

As PMM already explained, they have to wait until June 2019 to apply to renew their PR cards. They shouldn't leave Canada until then.
