Hi,
I landed on Dec 2012 and I have been in Canada for about 8 months totally. My PR card expiry date is 27 Feb 2018. My question is that if I can renew my card after expiration in order to make sure that I have fulfilled my 730 days or I have to do it 3 month before that? Thanks in advance.

You are not obligated to renew the PR card unless you need to do so. That gives you the freedom to renew it anytime after the recommended renewal application time (which is no earlier than 9 months before the card expiration).

You have no obligations to renew your card earlier. Just make sure that you meet all requirements (especially residence requirements) before submit your application for renewal.

Thank you so much for the prompt response.
I have another question:
After expiration of my PR card, my first five-year will has obviously finished. I wanted to know if they would consider the days I have been in Canada during the last five years on condition that I am applying to renew my card a couple of months after the expiry date, or they require me to start accumulating a new 730 days to renew the card.
