PR Card Renewal timeline

hello All,

My PR card is expiring on 30-Oct-2016.
I sent my application package on 14th and it was received on 17th Oct at NS.

I am sure that the processing will start only in November sometime, but by then my current PR card will be expired.
Will there be any issue with my expired PR card ? Will I be in any kind of trouble on my PR status ?

Any replies will be helpful.

no, there won't be any trouble for your PR status. the issue you'll run into is traveling. if you plan to travel commercially and don't have a valid pr card, you will be required to apply for a pr travel document (PRTD).

I am not a frequent traveler, so I guess I will be ok. Still anxious to see when they start processing my application.
