PR Card Renewal - Name Change

Hi All,

I am renewing my PR card to incorporate a name change. In the application form, question 22, it says "Complete this section if you have been outside of Canada for 1095 days or more in the past 5 years."

I became a permanent resident in March, 2016. I have lived here since then & have spent a cumulative total of 60 days outside Canada. Do I need to answer this question ?

No because you only landed March 2016 you have not been outside Canada as a PR 1095 days or more. Question 22 is only to cover people who potentially will not or have not met the RO.

Question 21 travel history records the 60 days outside Canada.
