I am posting this one to share past experience and what will happen on my PR card renewal because of the Canada Post strike.

I submitted my PR card renewal request through online portal on Sep 10. I already booked a travel to other Punta Canada from Dec 4th. I'd like to share any useful information what I should do about it to make sure I can get my PR card in time.

Contact Canada Post and ask if they are processing/delivering Government mail. I see that they are delivering Government checks, but not sure about PR Cards.

It may also depend, in part, on whether or not your mail is delivered to a community type mail box, versus home delivery to your home.

Worst case scenario, you have to apply for a PRTD (which can apparently be submitted before you leave Canada).

Last time the waited a while to see if postal workers would be mandated back to work. After a certain amount of time they changed couriers. PR card not considered essential mail.

I called IRCC today to ask if my card's been mailed, given the rotating strike situation. When i finally got through to a rep, they said they've already informed my local office to print my card and email me to pick it up in person.

I'm still waiting on the 'in person-pickup instructions' email though. So hopefully that email should come through next week.

My 'final decision, your application is in progress' update in GCKey/Secure acct (after linking my application), was on October 10th.

Not sure if this will be the same for all those folks whose PR card renewal got approved just over the past few weeks and are trying to figure out the impact of the strike.

I would suggest keeping an eye out for an email, along with checking your mailbox.
