PR card renewal before it expires?

My PR card expires 2013 September 1. I am planning to file for renewal this November. Will I be able to travel with the old one...?

So when I get the new one, I will have for a while two valid ones?? Or do I need to get the new one personally and hand over the old?

I really doubt they will allow you to have two valid PR cards so if you apply before your old one expires and don't send it in with your application, I assume they will make you pick up the new one in person so you can hand over the old one as you get the new one.

I got the new one in the mail and it says the old one is now invalid and I should destroy it.

i have applied mine in dec2012.but did not get it till date.
i also send my valid ticket to them on 4th of feb2013
can some body help me when i get my pr card.....
