Hi,

Its been more than four months since i landed as PR, but I havent received my PR card - when i called CIC they said it was not forgotten but they are doing some sort of VERIFICATION - and the agent has no clue what that verification includes?

Do any of you or some one you know are in such situation (currently or in past) ? Any help is much appreciated.

BTW i was nominated by Ontario PNP under masters graduate stream (in 2013).

I think we as OPNP stream are fucked up.... because now they are asking for additional papers from OPNP stream people..

Taurus1985 - do you think its some thing related to the recent 'additional' screening (requesting for documents related to work experience etc) being imposed on PR applicants who were nominated under Ontario PNP ? If that's the case it makes no sense in two ways: checking whether the applicant is still working in ONTARIO makes sense but expecting to gain a set number of years of experience wouldn't be possible in every case !!; secondly, OPNP Masters/PhD graduate stream doesn't requires a job offer, so how come now CIC expects the opposite? dont they communicate among them self?

Whatsoever, if that the case, i was not even asked for any documents? lets see whats there for me !!

Your case is probably fine. Maybe it is just some normal verification process. At that time, nothing weird happened for this stream.

Now, things have changed.

Hi SaiSivaRam,

I was also in the similar situation like your's....very much delayed in getting my PR cards. I was landed on March 10th and got my PR cards on July 2nd (114 days). I had called CIC call center but they don't know what the problem was and once they sent a message to the cards issuing department to take a look at my case. After that I think in one week they shipped all my family's 4 PR cards.

As the other guy said, we can never predict what CIC does some times. In my case we had to add our new born baby to my application and the process went smoothly.

The best way is to call CIC call center and follow up with them regularly. Good luck.

Thanks,
Sarayu.

Totally agree with all your responses and thanks for participating in this discussion.

To make it much strange, in my case my wife received her PR card within the average processing time but not me.

This rapidly-changing-Canadian-immigration-system always worries me !!

Yes I agree with you Taurus. SSR, I can totally understand your excitement/worry but you just keep following up with CIC. To me, it looks like Canada Post missed it for some reason. Because, they missed my wife's Alberta ID twice.

No Sarayu - my card hasnt been dispatched - the agent clearly said its under 'verification' and not sure how long before they print it - what confuses me is they took a decision only after 10-months of verification of my candidature (admissibility/eligibility/medical etc) then whats that they are still looking for ? i have full-time permanent employment in totally related to my Canadian studies and i am ready to provide whatever documentation they want, if that's the case? i have been given the same response whenever i called for almost a month now (i am checking with them since my wife received her PR card but not me) !!!

I wouldnt be super-worried if both of us didnt get our PR cards !!

I feel your pain because I am yet to receive mine too. I landed March 2 and I continue to call cic agents weekly with the same feedback. Quite frankly, this is just not right.

Hi ab100,

This is totally unfair by CIC to delay in issuing the PR cards. Are you single OR have a family with wife and kids? Because SSR's wife received her PR card but he is still waiting.

In my case, I have called them at least 5-6 times just in 15 days span. Every time they use to say, everything looks great on your file but we don't know why the cards issuing department is not shipping your cards. Finally one day the CIC call center agent said, I sent a message to issuing department to look at your file...So, 2 days after that our 4 cards were shipped.

Just keep following them man. Good luck.

Thanks,
Sarayu.
