Hi everyone,
please I'm new here and I seek your professional guidance and necessary information as regards my PR application which I seem not to understand what might be wrong. I submitted our PR application (my spouse and I) since last year October. In December I was asked to do biometrics and same done in January which reflected passed on our individual portal with medicals. Since January I haven't heard or receive any mail from IRCC. I used application tracker all I could see was that my background and eligibility check are in progress while background check for my spouse also shows background verification in progress since January nothing more. please kindly help me with any useful information. It becoming frustrating.
Thank you.

@Elizabethola That is quite normal I believe you are through Pnp EE, usually background check is taking 2/3 months to get completed. I would suggest to call IRCC and ask about info sharing, criminality and security check. I think you background is taking a bit time.

Thanks for your response. I called them yesterday and she stated background and eligibility is in progress. Thou she also said my application has passed 6month of which I think it's the processing time. She said she'll send a note to my officer and if there is any further information needed, they'll reach out to me. My background check is since January that's why I'm just so worried.

This is standard response from IRCC. since your eligibility is in progress so background also will on in progress. To start Security your eligibility should be completed. Also if it crossed 6 months then IRCC can't do anything it can be counted as outside of service agreement. You can raise a webform asking status update as this already crossed specified timeline.

Thank you all for your response. I was judging my application base on the pathway I came in through (AHS nursing pathway) several other people whom we applied together which I heard from already got their COPR not less than 10 people and we submitted around the same month, even those that are family of 4. Mine with family of 2 seems not to have any direction. that's the reason for crying out, so I'll know if there is more to it. thanks.

You can’t compare your application to others because everyone has different backgrounds. Family size should not have a big impact on processing. Unless your processing times was significantly different than others (in this cases 6-12+ months longer) IRCC won’t do much. Although your allocation was flagged nothing in terms of BG check will likely change. Unfortunately at this point you are just going to have to be patient. Given how hard it is to obtain PR these days would suggest focusing on the fact that you are on the pathway to secure PR and should have it relatively soon.
