Hello peeps.

Need some help/advice.

I received an invitation to apply for PR under the EE FSW program. I have submitted my application. The issue, as I recently found out, is that I will be pursuing my MBA in Montreal and Quebec has its own FSW program. For this reason, I believe my application will now get rejected. I submitted a letter along with my application in which I clearly stated that I had selected Montreal as the city in which I intend to reside as I will be studying there. Is there a chance that the Govt. of Canada will approve my application and allow me to enter another province and then subsequently move to Montreal for my education or is it pretty much a done deal that my application will get rejected?

Just wanted to get your thoughts.

Thanks!

Your application won't be rejected, if anything you'll get a request to write a letter of intent regarding your intentions to reside outside the province of Quebec.

IF your argument as well as proof does not convince the officer then yes, your application will get rejected.

Thank you for your reply.

Quick follow up question. I have to submit a document to evidence an improvement in my employment situation. In addition to explaining the purpose of my upload, I was planning on reiterating my desire to reside in Ontario post-graduation.

Would you suggest not doing the above and waiting for a request to provide a letter of intent? I could just provide a letter of intent along with the document I need to upload.

I would wait, this applicant submitted quite a few documents to prove his intention to reside outside of Quebec (and he successfully convinced the officer of his intention): http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/feedback-on-letter-of-intent-to-live-outside-of-quebec-t316252.0.html

Unless you are going to submit something as extensive I would wait for their request.

Thank you my friend. Just had a look. Quite helpful.

So this person actually went back to India, was applying to return and besides providing other evidence, provided evidence of trying to gain employment in provinces other than Quebec.

In my case, I will be studying in Montreal and so by definition will be residing there. I hope they ask me to provide a letter of intent. I'm not sure if they will though to be honest. I could justify why I applied to the particular university I will be studying at. I have good reasons for doing so. I just want to avoid a situation in which I am not given the opportunity to possibly provide an explanation.

What say?

Sure, just explain why you're providing such letter - i.e - that you wanted to make sure the officer knows your intention to live outside the province of Quebec.

If you're only providing a letter also explain that you'll have other supporting documents in case the officer requires further proof.

I've drafted my LOI and have gathered supporting evidence.

Has anyone ever been in a similar situation before?

I just don't see how they will approve my application if I'm doing my MBA in Montreal. :(
