Hi folks,
First of all, thanks for the useful content so far. I've been following the website for a while, and couldn't be more helpful!
I've got my Provincial Nominee Certificate from Ontario at the beginning of last summer and applied for PR as the documents have been accepted by the office in Sydney, NS on August 11th, 2014. Since then, there is not a single response from the government. It's been just a little bit more than 5 months. I've sent two emails to Sydney and all they say is that the application is under the initial review, and they will contact you in case there is a need.
Now I know that this is concerning, and I should have freaked out by now. Most applicants who applied later than me even completed their medical exams, and I don't even have an application/file number. For now, all I can do is to wait and be patient. Fortunately I've been working in my own professional field from the day I've finished my masters and in a very stable financial condition in Ottawa. Just wanted to ask a couple of questions;
-Is there any other communication medium to get more information about the applications rather than the email address of Sydney, NS? Whenever I call them, they mention that since I am a provincial nominee, it is considered as a process outside of Canada? (Even though I've been in Canada for the last 3 years)
-My Provincial Nominee certificate expires in 2 days and the original copy is sent within the PR application. Is it possible for me to extend the expire date in case of any issues (like getting rejected etc.)?
-Do you guys personally think that Express Entry is actually causing a serious delay? Or are they actually going to expedite the process for already-submitted applications?
Thanks a lot for your replies, looking forward to reading it in advance.
