PPR Question

My wife got PPR today. Unfortunately, her passport expires in 7 months and the letter says it must be valid for at least 12 months. Given that the documents must be provided within 30 days to the VO, is it unreasonable to ask for an extension until 31 March? You see, we are in Canada and we have to go through my wife's embassy to get the passport. This will be at least 30 days long. Anybody have thoughts on this???

First go apply for a new passport. Then take your proof that you applied for a new passport and sent it along with a letter to the visa office asking for an extension of time. You can ask for up until Mar. 31 but how long the visa officer will give is up to them.

i'd also recommend including a copy of the current passport that requires renewal, so they can see the expiration date themselves.
