Hello everyone,

My wife and I submitted our application for Permanent Residence. We sent it in around the week of December 20th, 2013, and haven't heard any information about the process since we've gotten our receipt e-mail. When going on-line to check my applications status it sends me to a page to give me an idea of when we will be reviewed. It says they are currently reviewing February applications at the moment.

I have a few questions. Firstly and most importantly. Did we send our application in too late? December 20th is just before holidays, and it's been on my mind a bit that we may have finished a little too late. Secondly if we weren't too late this must mean we have to wait until they are reviewing the applications from December. Will there be any form of contact from the reviewers? Such as an e-mail or some actual mail they'll send us to let us know they've begun reviewing? Any and All information would be a great help. Thank you.

From your previous posts, I am assuming you are talking about spousal sponsorship PR? Please remember to specify this as there are a number of PR routes. If it is spousal sponsor so, I really recommend posting on that forum where there are specialists.

So I don't know what you mean by "application sent too late" - in comparison to what? There is no annual cap on applications so it's never too late in the year to apply for PR.

From AOr (acknowledgement of receipt), there will be no contact to say they are reviewing your file. You're lucky in that you can see which months are currently being worked on - but your file doesn't go to the front of the queue, you have to wait until they reach the December files.

Take a good look at the CIc website, they will get in touch only when they need information or a next step from you (ie medicals).

Ah sorry I wasn't more specific. Yes you are right. It is for Spousal Sponsorship PR. I didn't know there was no cap for the application. What I had in my mind was the fact that the medical exam information wouldn't be valid at the turn of the year. You did answer my second question regarding whether or not I would be contacted by them and how. Thanks for your reply
