In your case, the PGWP will be issued for the period that amounts to the length of your studies.

Thanks , I had the same doubt . I asked my college for this and they say its a mandatory co-op with 12 credits and hence it is considered as one semester so they say its a 4 semester program. since I cannot post link please visit conestoga - embedded system development ( 1st option in google). While discussing, with college staff, they said after completion of course they will provide a letter stating that I have completed my 2 years of education in the post graduate program which will fetch me a 3 year work permit.. I am confused !! HELP!

If your college told you that they would provide you with the letter stating that you completed a 2 year program, then the officer will make a decision based on the information in the letter. When applying online you have an option of uploading a letter or transcript, it's recommended to upload a letter because it makes more sense about the length of the program, since the transcripts are hard to interpret for people not familiar with the college system. I am also going to apply for my PGWP soon and I am going to attach the letter from the college that I have completed a 2 year full-time program, hopefully it will get me a 3-year work permit. Good luck!

I should apply by the end of May, so I'll probably have an answer to your question sometime in June, it depends how long the processing times will be at CIC. Anyways, I'll update you as soon as I receive my PGWP.

it all depends on your what your college letter will say at graduation...if it says 2 years you will get 3 yrs wp and if it says three semesters than 1 or 1.5 year.

You may upload both (if you wish). Just make it as ONE two-pages PDF document.
Why would you want to upload both documents? You probably want your application to be processed fast and smoothly, any additional docs may confuse or overwhelm the officer. A letter from college/university is as equally reliable proof of the program length as a transcript. So why send something that can raise questions or doubts on the officer's part? Make sure you include everything on the checklist, but don't overdo it by providing unnecessary information. If the officer requires more information, he/she will contact you, but it shouldn't happen if the letter contains all the information such as start and end dates of the program and confirms the student's full-time on-campus status.
