You can try asking at the airport for the PGWP though, it's up to the officer but asking won't hurt, you might be lucky!
true but I do not have valid visa or study permit. only proof of maintained status
By proof I mean I have the submission document that I received after I applied for PGWP.
Assuming you're ONLY visiting the US you should be fine, see below taken from the CIC website.
I have a temporary resident visa. Can I leave Canada and come back?
Single-entry temporary resident visa
- If you have a single-entry temporary resident visa, you will generally need a new single-entry visa to come back to Canada.
- You can request to return to Canada on your originalsingle-entry temporary resident visa, if:
- you will only visit the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon; and
- you will return to Canada before the end of your approved stay in Canada.
- Yes, you can come back to Canada, if you have a multiple-entry temporary resident visa and it has not expired.
- You can request to return to Canada on your originaltemporary resident visa, even if it is expired, if:
- you will only visit the U.S. or St. Pierre and Miquelon; and
- you will return to Canada before the end of your approved stay in Canada.
Third point applies to you, since you're in implied status.
