Hi all,
I recently graduated from an 8-month teacher education program and have applied for my post grad work permit. I figure that I will be granted an 8-month work permit. I have a job offer to teach in northern Saskatchewan starting August 29th. The human resources dept. is telling me that they can offer me a "temporary contract" for 8 months, then I have to apply for an extension or new work permit, and they will offer me another "temporary contract" for the remaining part of the year.
My question is: Can I be offered a permanent contract with only an 8-month visa, and then extend the work visa once it expires? My concern with accepting a temporary contract is that I feel I will have a hard time getting a 4-month work visa for the remaining part of the school year, since I will have to submit the LMO.
Thanks!
