Hi, everyone.
I just want to talk about the "Future Game Plan" If I maintain full-time status during the semester.
Here is a short story,
I got failed in one class in the second semester, and in semester 5, the professor give me a special timetable for the next four-semester (2 for regular and 2 for extra), and here is the plan I got.
Semester One (Fall 2021): 5 Classes - PT but I made it FT take extra classes
Semester Two (Winter 2022): 6 Classes - FT
Semester Three (Fall 2022): 3 Classes but possibly 2 classes if elective didn't open the semester, 6 classes total needed. (4 classes should be added elective or re-take in worst-case scenario)
Semester Four (Winter 2023): 2 Classes (last Semester)
As Canadian immigrant law, I should maintain full-time student status except last semester to get PGWP. I keep consulting with college consultants and departments to make the plan advance to maintain the full time after I got a half-baked timetable.
However, today, my consultant told me "It might be (even it is a skim chance) part-time if the department or general study department didn't allow you to take extra courses". The consultant already knows my problem and background, she fully supports maintaining full-time status as she can. However, what the consultant told me today is a highly intriguing scenario for me especially as an international student, once you fail to maintain full-time status for more than one semester, my Canadian journey is over.
I read some thread regards but my case is the worst-case scenario for an international student, unfortunately. Also my student visa expired the next year, but I need to extend it, but there is some rumor, I might reject to extend my student visa unless my rest of the semester is solidly full-time, for now no. in this case, how can I plan next semester game plan to get full-time status? is it possible to take + 3 electives in one semester? How can I do if the department refuses to retake the courses and the general study department reject to take the extra courses? How does the letter work in this case? How many possibilities to get an open work permit if I didn't get full-time status in semester three? Do I have to start to look employer to support LMIA now?
P.S Can I work short 3 week intermission between Semester 3 and last part-time semester, if I maintain consecutively full-time student status other than last semester?
