Employers don't want to invest in employees if they may not be able to stay in Canada. It is a bit different if they have been able to bring an employee in on a work permit but in the case of asylum seekers it is out of their hands whether a potential employee will be able to remain and for how long.

Right, they just asked about the SIN if it starts with 9 then it's a rejection (in a polite way).
