I'm a US who accepted a job with a Canadian company, I'm going to cross the border and get a work permit under nafta. My wife is a Canadian citizen. My possessions/goods to follow consist mostly of a few expensive tools and 4 tires. In the cbsa publication for temp workers, it says "The goods cannot be used by a resident of Canada". But my wife is a resident, e.g. she'll be driving and we are bringing 4 snow tires. Also, will they be unhappy with the tools? I'm not sure, is someone on a work permit allowed to fix things around their house? thanks!
