Your background checks added on a whole year?! Was that the checks from St. Vincent or from Canada?

On the topic of background checks..if you can make it happen. DO IT! Lol My husbans request for checks came from POS and took a total of 53 weeks. That was our hold up.
Wow that is very scary! Thank for sharing your experience.
I don't understand why they say the RCMP clearance is not needed and turn around and ask for it. Guess nothing is ever clear with immigration.

one of the reason we have this forum is many tiimes cic doesnt furnish ppl with enough info its like they try to hide stuff from you, second there are many crooked lawyers and councellor out there, we have gone through this and some of us are still going through and many have succeed and many wish they could go back and do things different.

its like yesterday my wife finally told our pastor why he doesnt see me at church anymore, and he said to us, if we had tell him something he would have stopped me from getting deported, i was like r u freaking kidding me, but there is many things we wish we could have done different.

You are very correct Millslu.
There are things hidden and thanks to this forum for us all connecting to each other. It's very stressful time but at least knowing we have people to talk to and discuss things with in regards to immigration really helps.

well @ behopefull remove or deportation basically the same thing, and when you removed or deported you will need and ARC to return to the country, and yes when they sent my interview letter for me they sent a letter an application for me to do my RCMP as well, fortunately enough i already sent it for them in january 2013.
Yes thank you Millslu. I guess what I was trying to highlight is that he had a departure order to leave the country in 30 days vs. an exclusion or deportation order which means he would need permission to re-enter from CBSA or that he was barred from entering the country all together.

As you said though, I'm going to get on the RCMP stuff just to make sure it's done and we don't wait any extra time. Better to have it in my hands now!
Thanks everyone!

Also found out how to get a new RCMP for him... which is going to put a hold on submitting everything

@mizzd no the ARC is like an apology letter to immigration telling them you sorry for overstaying and having to be deported, and you have to pay 400 bucks for it with a RCMP clearance and thats it. the visa application thing comes together with the landing, so basically he will have to apply for a visa if he wants to come back and if he wants to do that he should at least wait 6 months. its not required but being they had him leave its on his record that he overstayed so they will be very hesistant to give him a visa to return.

im starting to feel like a pest hehe

So basicaly he had a consultant that was helping him with all his refugee stuff, he was a complete moron and i told him from day 1 the guy was a waste of money, My husband got denied refugee in April of 2012 and we had no idea until we got a letter in Jan 2013 asking him to leave! So we decided we would go the lawyer route, got a lawyer, lawyer says we would put in the sponsorship and ARC at the same time, I than decided to fire the lawyer because I was basically doing everything on my own anyways. So here I am. I have all the papers filled out for the sponsorship, all the "evidence together" im just missing the updated RCMP (the one i do have is from AUG of 2012)

Do I wait to put in the ARC or do it at the same time i send in the sponsorship?

now that is a very good question, if you have everything done right now and all you are missing it the RCMP i would advice you to send the application right now, becasue the longer you wait the longer he is gonna be down there, so send it in and whilst all the process is going on, now u work on the RCMP so when he is called for an interview or maybe not, eventually they will ask him for the RCMP, just make sure u have it on hand, if you get the RCMP before they contact him, then you can send it to them and maybe when u sending it to them u can make another file to send to them showing them that u have been in communication with him from the time he have left, you have sent him money, skyped with him and also txting him, this is just to strengthen your case for u.
