Welllll, millslu, I'm just 'assuming' the interview is being waived because KG requested an extension on my hubby's medical, asked for another police certificate, and asked us to pay the PR fee (which we did when we applied ::)). We've been in this process for a little over a year and I believe things are taking a little longer for us because of when hubby did his medical (Jan 9, 2012), first police certificate (Dec 31, 2011), we applied in March 2012 when they were changing systems and we didn't get first stage approval until June 2012. :o. We got married in January 2012 and I thought I was going to submit our application as soon as I returned to Canada. Unfortunately it took quite a while for us to get our marriage certificate and then when we did there were some mistakes on it so we had to send it back to Jamaica. ::) Soooo, in conclusion to my long-winded story, I believe we may have gotten through sooner if we a) could have submitted our application in January 2012 because the medical and police certificate wouldn't have expired or b) applied in the fall of 2012 when first stage approvals were being done in a couple of weeks or even days!

And to make myself feel better ::): according to KG, 80% of the applications are completed in 17 months from the time they receive the application. Which means I should be thankful if I get a decision made by November 2013!!! :P And don't forget, EVERY application is unique and cannot be compared to that of others... ::)

And yes, I'm aware that they can request an interview at any time during the process... :D

Thanks for listening, er, I mean, reading! (Boy, do I ever know how to be a party pooper)!

This is not party pooping at all! This is a sure sign that they will request your passport anyday. They are not supposed to extend medicals at all unless they are planning to approve and that's the only thing holding up your PPR... so don't you worry girl.. you're sitting on the finish line laughin ;)

Hey @ missd she must be sleeping, give me and idea of the timeline after the interview plzz

I am not sleeping LOL... I wish! That would be much better than studying... but I dont think I could sleep with all of this excitement on the POS thread tonight!! Wow.

Interview - they often request you passport within a month of interview if it's a positive outcome. I've seen some get requested the same month as interview and then I've seen some wait months after interview. Sometimes background stuff still has to be done/finalized after the interview and I think it varies as to how long after interview to PPR. Let's hope yours will be the same month ;)

Too bad the countdown to the finish line is on island time!

Millslu... I apologize in advance to take away from your party by asking yet another question! I know you won't mind or at least I hope you don't!!!!

Does anyone feel like they will somehow miss communication from POS? I know it's way too early to hear much but I worry I (we) will miss a letter or email or something.

Every. Day. lol. CIC has been known to lose letters in the mail (I say CIC and not Canada Post because I strongly believe it's a CIC error in not sending them properly most of the time lol). But I've received all my communications via email, so I'm hpoing they keep that up... I check constantly... no missing that for me! lol

Wowowow such great news from POS...congrats millslu! By this summer u will be back in Canada with your wife :)
Try ordering GCMS notes so you know exactly what their concerns are for the interview. I am sure this forum will help you greatly.

Very good advice.

well @nev it all depends on the file if they have some concern, and i know i have a few then they will ask for interviews but if they have no red flags then they waive it like they did with u lol
