Aww, that's great!

How does it work in POS, will they ask you for your passport at the interview? Will you know if you 'pass' the same day?

i dont think so @nev they will just say they will contact you on the decision and then have you wait for another few weeks, hey when did you get your letter saying you have been waived and interview. how long it been @nev

Millslu... What wonderful news for a Friday evening. You have a date and a date to know your journey is coming to an end. What a relief to know. It's such a relief for all of us waiting because one less person ahead of us in the line. I'm assuming the notice for the interview came via email?

As a side question do all the interviews take place in POS? Do they typically only interview the person that's being sponsored?
Such great news and just the boost we needed although I'm fearful after MissD because there is a big gap where there are no applicants on the spreadsheet until November so we will be a long time waiting and wondering. Maybe no one applied between September and November! HAHA!!

Interviews take place in POS. Typically they ONLY interivew the applicant, not the sponsor. Sometimes, if the sponsor goes to the interview with the applicant, both will be interviewed so that they can "compare answers" but that does not often happen.

I hope you're right that no one applied after me til November - then we'll clear this whole group out and walk away with our PPRs hehehe.

@Nev, they don't usually ask for your PP at the interview. It's typically requested after the interview via email or letter.

Welllll, millslu, I'm just 'assuming' the interview is being waived because KG requested an extension on my hubby's medical, asked for another police certificate, and asked us to pay the PR fee (which we did when we applied ::)). We've been in this process for a little over a year and I believe things are taking a little longer for us because of when hubby did his medical (Jan 9, 2012), first police certificate (Dec 31, 2011), we applied in March 2012 when they were changing systems and we didn't get first stage approval until June 2012. :o. We got married in January 2012 and I thought I was going to submit our application as soon as I returned to Canada. Unfortunately it took quite a while for us to get our marriage certificate and then when we did there were some mistakes on it so we had to send it back to Jamaica. ::) Soooo, in conclusion to my long-winded story, I believe we may have gotten through sooner if we a) could have submitted our application in January 2012 because the medical and police certificate wouldn't have expired or b) applied in the fall of 2012 when first stage approvals were being done in a couple of weeks or even days!

And to make myself feel better ::): according to KG, 80% of the applications are completed in 17 months from the time they receive the application. Which means I should be thankful if I get a decision made by November 2013!!! :P And don't forget, EVERY application is unique and cannot be compared to that of others... ::)

And yes, I'm aware that they can request an interview at any time during the process... :D

Thanks for listening, er, I mean, reading! (Boy, do I ever know how to be a party pooper)!

Millslu... I apologize in advance to take away from your party by asking yet another question! I know you won't mind or at least I hope you don't!!!!

Does anyone feel like they will somehow miss communication from POS? I know it's way too early to hear much but I worry I (we) will miss a letter or email or something.

Wowowow such great news from POS...congrats millslu! By this summer u will be back in Canada with your wife :)
Try ordering GCMS notes so you know exactly what their concerns are for the interview. I am sure this forum will help you greatly.

@behopeful hey you can ask anything anytime but not really i dont think you will miss anything they most likely communicate with you through email, and the thing is i notice when ever POS communicate with you or request anything they give you ample time to respond, like months so if you didnt pay your interent bill or whatever, you still have time go by a freind and ch.eck your internet, or even call or anything at all especailly if you are close to the amount of time alocated
