Yeah, it's hard to say when they will get around to ours, but I hope you're right that we should be near the front of the line. It concerns me though about the poor people that applied in FEBRUARY 2012 and have not heard anything yet. It must be frustrating to them. But there can be various reasons for this and no one really knows who is next. Let's hope it's us and let's hope we are near the front of this line so that when all the IOs come back from vacation this month, that we will hear soon. And let's hope these people who have been waiting an extra long time hear some news too!

If you're referring to me...I'm not poor eh lol.... we will hear very soon! :)

Of course you will! And you deserve to. I can't tell if you are teasing or if you are offended, so I'm not sure how to respond lol... but I was actually not referring specifically to you. To be honest, I'm just a little startled that two+ people have joined the forum in the last few days that have been waiting for a year (or more!). Before that, it seemed (my hopeful delusion) like everyone was trucking right along with shorter wait times for 2012. It's a frightening realization to me that I could very well be waiting a year (or more!) and that is what I meant when I said I felt for the "poor" people that applied in February...

I just know what a sad state I am in right now and how worked up and upset and frustrated I get and I'm not even at the 6 month mark. I guess it was more of a "I can't imagine what will happen to me if I have to wait that long... Poor ME" kind of statement. And I was trying to empathise with how hard it must be to wait so long.

I hope you didn't actually take offense, as that is clearly not how I meant it.

Also, I like how confident you are that you will hear soon. Even though you have waited much longer than me, you still seem to remain very strong in the process. I, on the otherhand, am breaking down (not so) slowly... I wish you all the best!

holy crap whats the deal with dadzin how comes you have been there since febuary omg all hope is lost for us missdominica, no serious dadzinnnn why are you stilll hereeeeeeeeee.. :( :( :( :( :( :(

Millslu, Dadzin had to add on a child that was born after he originally filed and had to send in some medicals and stuff that may have delayed his processing a little bit. Sometimes a small change like having to send medicals or something can delay an application (for a short time or a longer time, like months, depending on how busy the office is or how long it takes the officer in charge to get back to that file after it has been upated).

POS still counts a year as within their normal processing times (it can go up to 15 months) and Dadzin is at a year this coming month. So it's not so unheard of to have applications take longer sometimes. It's not fun, but it happens.

Don't lose hope though. Just as some applications take the full 15 months, some have gone through in record times (5, 6, 7 months). So you just have to keep the faith that you will get through sooner or later, but hope for the sooner.

I know what you meant, I was just bringing some humor to the thread lol.... but on a more serious note...you know what don't worry about my application date or anyone before you as each case processing is based on its individual merits and situation. Some people applied in June 2012 and got word already... each one of our situation is different and requires different handling. Sometimes we say our case is straightforward but behind the curtains its not. So keep the faith and live everyday faithful. On the brighter side other countries have to wait 24 months and more.... so like we say in trini "doh hut yuh head"...

Doh hut yuh head... Should be my new motto...

Glad to see you were just poking fun at me... I wasnt sure if you were mad or not LOL.. phewf

You're right... everything is different for everyone... Too bad my head won't stop trying to generalize timelines and let me sleep!! Lol

Nite nite

Yes... Every applicant is treated based on their individual application. I added my daughter in June...had to send in her medical as well... I'm confident and optimistic that within 2 months our status will be update with in process and interview waived! I shall also recieve an email requiring my wife and daughters passports. By April 18 2013 they will be back on Canada landed! Then it will be time for another baby! :)

Good morning everyone!!

Just dropping by to say hi to everyone!

A couple of questions.
MissDominica... I think you said you filed as common law for your partner. How do you feel about filing common law? I am sure that you have LOTS of evidence to support your relationship, however people say the chances are better filing for a spouse. And I am using the term people very loosely. You are highly educated about it all, so I'm sure you've weighed your pros and cons. Just curious is all and I'm not meaning to cause any sort of doubt for you at all. Hope the question wasn't too forward.

One other comment for Dadzin. You mentioned that your wife will be having your second baby in a few months (big congrats) and said she had to return home because medical care was so expensive here. I was going to mention that midwife practices and community health centers (CHC's) often offer services to people that are not covered under OHIP if she were to return on her VISA. Having said that, some practices for midwifery care are hard to get into. I should mention I am familiar with practices in the Toronto area and this may not be the case for other areas or provinces. Just thought I would throw that out there. I know it is off topic, but worth mentioning.

Have a great Friday everyone!

Hey! Do you know much it would cost or what's the process? I would like to have a backup plan...my next child must be born here..

Hey! I will send you a PM with some if the things i would suggest and know so that I don't clog up te board with non immigration stuff. Just at work now, but will send later!!

Congrats bajan246!! Glad to see another family reunited! Welcome to all the newbies, it seems our little forum family is expanding quite rapidly!

Regarding the seeming push to get applications through at the end of the year, it does seem to happen each year, possibly due to year end quotas and also to get the numbers up for that quarterly updates. Actually, there seems to be a push through about every 3 months. But...that's all just pattern reading, none of this is an exact science. We got approved in the middle of July, which is traditionally a slow time everywhere, so anything can happen at any time.

Have a great weekend everyone! !!
