Awwwwwwww!!!!! Just wonderful Smoki. It's a new beginning and I wish you all the best. *HUGS*

Morning Forum Fam,
Happy Thursday To Everyone.
POS....really wanting you to reunite more families. It's stories like these that melts my heart. I love it.

Oh man Smokie, you even got me excited.. So happy you had a great experience. Nice way you spent your night. Glad you arrived safely too. I plan to apply for all my credentials when i arrive too. No sense waiting. Admirable your time will soon be here, can't wait to hear your story. Another week almost at an end, come POS we need more PPR's.

Good evening all. Hope everyone is well. Hello POS, you have 1 more day this week to get some more families together, letssssssss goooooooo.

Had a lazy day today as the both of us were a bit knackered from yesterday. Stayed in and did a coupole of things around the house.

Called Service Ontario regarding my OHIP, they said that I need 1 piece of id that carries my address, but they would not accept my temporary driver's licence or my letter showing my SIN number. I therfore need to wait for my official drivers licence to arrive, b4 I can appy for my coverage. No problem with the time tho as my 90 days will start from my date of landing.

Have a good evening all.

Smoki OHIP used to accept a confirmation of address from your bank (if you have an account here). This was a few years ago, not sure if they changed the rules, but might be worth a try if you need it sooner.

Hey everyone! I'm new here and almost finished with my sponsorship case but I so wish I had found this forum earlier! you guys are very helpful and supportive! :) I just thought I would give my timeline because it helped a lot and was really interesting seeing how other cases proceeded. I'm from Trinidad btw, my husband is from Canada but he'll be here to visit me soon *excited*
So here goes...Application received Nov 14; File transferred Jan 15; Started processing application on May 10; PPR and RPRF May 22nd. That's it basically, I sent in my PP last week and I'm just waiting to get it back...oh, the e-cas was updated to Decision Made today :)

Oh, I have a question...I sent in the PP using the trackpak thing and the girl at the counter told me to include another one so they can mail it back but now I want to pick it up in person...it was kind of nervewracking sending my PP in the mail, and the tracking no. shows 2 different delivery dates and signatures so not sure what happened there...can I send a CSE saying that? They seemed pretty strict about what you should and shouldn't send them when I went to the site :(

Good day all. Hope everyone is enjoying their day & that all is well.

Thanks Bajeinwaiting

Landed at PIA on Tuesday 12th around 9.15pm.
Left home in BIM around 1.50 pm to catch my 3.45pm flight. My daughter's boyfriend drove myself and my grandson to the airport. On our way there we met my daughter to say my goodbyes. Was feeling a bit emotional as she is my only daughter, who also happens to be the last of my 3 children. I was always of the opinion that I would spend the rest of my days residing in Barbados, as I felt that I am now of the age that living abroad would no longer appeal to me.

Got to the airport & checked in. Checking in took a while longer than normal as I was travelling on a one way ticket and the young lady at check in informed me that the necessary checks were being made because of the one was ticket and me not having a visa counterfoil inserted in my passport.
Anyway, after all the checks were completed I got myself a few more $ at the airport bank and spent a few precious moments with my grandson. I then bade my mate and my daughter's boyfriend bye and made my way into departure.

The flight was fine, no problems and we landed a bit earlier than scheduled. I had already told the wife to pick me up at 10pm. Flight landed at 9.15pm. Immigration was as smooth as silk, just a few questions asked (normal things) Left immigration pick up bags and into customs. Informed the customs that I was landing, no questions asked, was just waved on through.

Got outside at 9.45, no wife, sat and waited. When she arrived she was so excited that she went to departures instead of arrivals, yes I laughed my head off. We greeted each other with the greatest of affection. Packed up the car and drove the 40 minutes or so to home.
When we reached, I was ushered to our room, what a great surprise. My wife had decorated our love nest with a huge welcome home banner and had a bottle of sparkling wine on ice waiting. We had dinner, lie on the couch and watched the rest of the ball game, had a shower and then went to bed. Let's say it was a very romantic nite.

Had to get up early in the morning, as we had to attend a graduation. After the graduation, we worked our way to different places of business to apply for my SIN, a bank account and get my UK licence transferred to an Ontario one. Will try for my OHIP registration tomorrow.

Sweet landing story...congrats smoki

Hi Cinnamon Girl....Speedy processing if you ask me.....Awesome :D!
I've added you to our spreadsheet. Did you receive an Acknowledgment of receipt from POS after your file was xfer to the visa office?
The link to the s/s is at the end of this post .

Just wanting to wish all the fathers on this forum a Happy Fathers' Day. Continue being a positive role model in your children's' lives.
Blessings to everyone....xxx

Hi everyone and thanks for the good wishes.

Hi Good Day All,
Ya'll probably thought i abandoned the group...sorry for the delay. Well i landed in Toronto on the 9th and landed at my final destination of Edmonton the 10th May early in the morning. I was greeted by my wife which was really good :D so i'm way happier now. Been a month here so far and its really nice here even tho i miss. I've been sending out applications like crazy, had one interview already but no job so far :( but at least the main hurdle of waiting is over now just the job hurdle is in the way. But we're together and that's all that matters now ;D. Anyway goodluck to those of you who are waiting cuz i know how POS is. Take care and i will try to update as much as i can.

Hi Delon,

Good day Friends,

Hope everyone had a great weekend and the fathers here enjoyed themselves yesterday. Delon I have to go through Toronto to land on my way to Montreal. How was the landing process in Toronto? What did they ask you etc. The job is going to come. That's one of my worries when i get there too, the time it will take to find one but as you said just another hurdle to get over.

Hope POS sends some more people home this week

Hey everybody!

Hope everyone had a good Father's day and glad to hear some good landing stories! :D

We delayed applying for a PR application for a little so we could apply for a visitor visa first (unlikely success, but why not try). Anyway, now the application for visitor visa is taking a bit longer than expected and I'm worried about the original documents I had for the PR application expiring!!!

Is there any specific date that makes the PR documents too "old" or expired? Ie. less than 3 months old, less than 30 days old, etc? I'm talking documents like police reports, letters from family/friends, bank statements (for me as sponsor), etc.

Thanks guys... hoping for good news for some of you this week!!!

If memory serves me correctly, I think the meds have to be submitted within 6 months of the exam date, and the police checks within 3 months
