Not yet, but we did get a small update in ecas - my husband's address has been entered as mine here in Canada. It's a small victory, but we'll take it

How are preparations coming on your end?

Oh great. Every little update counts. I imagine you will hear something soon.

Plans are coming along nicely. Hoping to file in July. *fingers crossed*. Stage 1 processing are 90 days geez!

So the good news is...our gcms notes came through this evening. The bad news is, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot in there

From what we can make out, nothing has really been started yet (all the fields say not started), however, it does show that our file has been assigned to someone, and there is a "due date" of May 25/2012 (notes were pulled on May 10). Does anyone know what this due date signifies? It also appears there was some kinda movement on April 25, but can't quite tell what it was. Ughhh...I think the CAIPS format was easier to read!

The due date is apparently when they are supposed to look @ ur file again. I think.

Probably by the time u ordered it till now, something happened. So you can order it again..

Zouk, this is normally the final step in the process. I hope it means something positive.
Why not send them a CSE regarding some comms docs for your file to see what would happen?

We are planning on ordering them again next week to see if anything happened on May 25.

You can send them (POS) a CSE about the status of your application.

That usually wakes em up a bit.

Can somebody help with a Visitor Visa question? We are still playing with the idea of doing a short-term visitor visa for this summer. It says processing is 10 days... and you don't send in a health check report or a police certificate - so how do they go about making sure you're an acceptable applicatant? Or when/how does all this stuff need to be done? Do we even need this stuff for a visitor visa? Thanks

Yikes at 90 days. Stage one used to be 30 days. More applications are being processed. No doubt about that.

@ Zouk I guess it was too early to order the notes. The dates I believe are when they plan on looking at your file. I don't think sending a CSE will annoy them. As you already know, your file is in process as it has been assigned to a VO etc.

The good news about the E-CAS update is that they are working on your file. Im convinced you'll hear from them soon.

@ MissDominica if you go through the Visitor Visa App you"ll see they ask about background info--> employment, education etc. Do submit proofs that he will be returning to Dominica.

Thanks - we will submit as much proof as we can. I am concerned though because for a visitor application, you don't send proof of medical exam or criminal record check. I did some digging and found out you don't need a health exam for a visit less than 6 months if you're from Dominica (good) but I still don't know why they wouldnt ask you to send a criminal record check? Or do they ask for that later? I'm just confused as to how they can process a visitor visa so quickly (10 days apparently) and how would they do that without a record check etc in their hands? I feel like I should be sending this stuff - but oh well! lol Thanks!
