Port of entry/Landing

How critical is it that you land at the place you have mentioned in your application. I mentioned Halifax (Nova Scotia) in my application (for some dumb reason, I cannot even remember now!). Do I have to fly to Halifax directly (I am currently in the United States) or can I drive through Buffalo across the border and then proceed to Halifax?

Any suggestions will be appreciated.

You can enter ONTARIO via Niagara. There is no restriction except entering Qubec.
