Hi,

I got my UK police report issued on the 29th November 2012 and I'm now ready to send my application ..my wife is sponsoring me for PR

is my police report old now - or is it still valid to send? as it's a few months old I had wanted to send my PR in December but it's been stressful getting all the forms and doc's correct.

its fine you can send that report its still valid best of luck for application

Your police certificate should be fine. Given that the process can be quite lengthy, it is unlikely that a police check made 2 months before apllying would be deemed invalid. If for example (and I hope it doesn't) your case take 9 months to process, the same police certificate is fine.

The other thing to rememeber is that the ACRO for has a 'premium' option and should the Visa Office in London request another police certificate, you can get it in two working days for an extra cost. I used the premium service, which recieved my application on a Tuesday and the certificate was with me (in Korea) the following Monday.

In comparison other countries may not have the same speed of process, so in that respect it is not a major issue. A friend of mine actually sent the WRONG certificate (using the Subject Access Request) but was able to amend the problem in days.

Thanks - I saw this on there cic site...If I send my app..with the police report issued 29th November 2012 in the 1st week of feb is that ok ...

Who needs a police certificate?

In general, you and everyone in your family who is 18 years of age or over need to obtain a police certificate. You must obtain a police certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.

The certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application.

If the original certificate is neither in English nor in French, submit both the certificate and the original copy of a translation prepared by an accredited translator with your application.

The Police certificate must have been issued no more than three months before you submit your application. Since your PCC is issued on Nov 29, 2012, so if your application is received by CIC prior to Feb 28, 2013, it will be valid. PCC's are good for 1 year. You may be asked to submit another PCC if your case is not finalized by November 2013

would this be a issue

My police report issued Nov 29 2012
I send to cic 1st feb 2013
Arrives at cic 10th feb
They begin processing a month later

Would the report still be ok?

I am not sure. As far I know, CIC date stamps the application when received. So if it is received on the date which is within 3 months of date on PCC it should be okay. If you are ready with your application then send it now. Why take a chance?

Yes, as long as it arrives at CIC's doorstep by Feb 29, 2013, you're good
