Do I have to translate the police report from Mexico (Informe de Datos Registrales) to english?
Definitely, all documents not written in English or French must be accompanied by an English or French translation done by an official translator.

Hello there. I want to share my experience since I am now worried about my application process. I am a Mexican living in Canada and I got the "constacia de datos registrales" in Mexico city on a visit to my family. Immigration refused the paper and asked me to get a "informe de datos registrales" since I reside in Canada. Two days ago I send the fingerprints, and photos to the Canadian Embassy in Mexico City (located at Miguel aCervantes de Saavedra).

Does anyone know how long it will take for them to send me the "informe de datos registrales"?
How come the Canadian Consulate is now involved for Federal Police certificates for applicants living in Canada?

One year ago, applicants living in Canada had to give a relative or friend in Mexico a "carta poder" to get the Federal Police Certificate on behalf of the applicant. Moreover, a letter of request by the Mexican Embassy in Canada had to be included along with the "carta poder".

Why the change in the process?

I appreciate if anyone here has some insights on the matter. Thank you :0)

Gracias

Hi! I'm also a Mexican in Toronto applying under CEC, I wonder what was the outcome of this matter? In my case, I haven't get the letter asking for the "informe" yet, but I wonder if it would be a good idea to send the fingerprints before they ask. I guess my question is how long it took you to get the INFORME after you sent out the fingerprints. Thanks

i have a question, my friend is applying for inland spousal sponsorship to canada. she is mexican married to a canadian. if i understand correctly, based on the cic website, the police certificate is not required when submitting the application even though it is in the checklist. here are my questions then:
1. Do we just cross out the police certificate then and put a note saying that it is not required yet because she is from mexico? If we do this, we are worried that the application might be treated as incomplete and returned.
2. Can we just submit a state police certificate from Mexico for now just so she is not incomplete and wait for the request from CIC? Is it easy to get a state police certificate while in Canada?

Did you receive the letter from CIC to get the police clearance ? You will have to apply in Guadalajara after you receive the lettter. No meed to travel to Mexico city.
Without the letter, you cannot apply.
