My husband got his police check in February 20th 2014. We are now getting to send off the entire application by the end of April 2014. Will he have to do another police check for the London visa office? Because I read on this forum that the police check has a life span of 3 months.

They have a one year expiry but must be received by CIC within three months of being issued. You shouldn't have to do another one.

As long as the sponsor's VO gets the application before the 3 months, it'll be fine, even if the police check expires when it gets to London. And unlike a medical exam, they'll almost never ask you to do another criminal record check.

But the other person just said it was fine? Now you're saying it has to get to the London VO before the 3 months? The 3 month mark with be May 20th.. I doubt it'll get there in time seeing how I have to get approved as a sponsor first in Mississauga which apparently takes 28 days...

I am confused. Someone clarify. Should he just do another police check?

No I said the SPONSOR's VO has to get it before 3 months, in your case, Missisauga has to get your PCC before 3 months. After that, it doesn't matter if your PCC is expired before it gets to London, the most important thing is Missisauga has to get it before the 3 months.

Mrs. Purcy I noticed you always seem so worried and ask many questions about your application, you really should not stress out so much, as you seem to have a good relationship background, and London VO has a 98% acceptance rate. My wife's VO has the 2nd longest processnig time in the world, and one of the highest rejection rates in the world (72%), and you don't see me worrying and stressing so much. Just take it easy and relax, dear.

Also, if you want to see the full instructions and checklist for all documents you need, they're all on the CIC website.

Ya I am a bit of a worry wart and just want to know everything I can and not have unsettled thoughts or unanswered questions lingering in my mind. We do have good relationship background and although London has a 98% acceptance rate, I don't want to solely rely on that as anything can happen. Even though we are both fairly confident about this. We have cards from his parents my parents, my sisters, birthday cards, wedding congratulory cards, cards we both sent each other for Mother's Day Father's Day, valentines etc. Bank statements of our apartment being paid every month, our joint account bank information, tons of emails, pictures of us travelling together, with friends, us going out for dinner dates etc, pictures of us at home etc, texts and more. I'm just anxious that's all! It's a very taxing process and I just really want things to go smoothly. I tend to overthink things and whatnot. I am so happy you and other users are so informative and helpful. I have also been browsing throughout this forum and reading older posts and questions just to stay informed.

I know it's a stressful process to do PR paperwork, believe me, I've spent 2 months compiling my paperwork before sending it in. My wife is from Vietnam, which is a HIGH marriage fraud region, hence why Singapore has long processing times. Because of that, sponsors whose spouses are from Singapore VO have to work 2x as much to get approved. Their applications are more heavily scrutinized, so I have to send in tons of proof, you want to know what I sent?

-400 photos, 30 of them from my traditional wedding ceremony (have to show VO every single traditional wedding aspect was covered), 30 of them from the reception
-80, 11x17 photocopies of travel tickets, movie tickets, love letters, gifts sent to each other by mail, wedding venue/decorations/food receipts, my parents' flight tickets when they went on trip with us, hotel receipts, tickets of when we went to different tourist areas (seriously the amount of proof I sent was over the top)
-10 support letters from my wife's family and friends (that's right, TEN)
-several hundred pages of Viber, Yahoo!, and Skype webcam chats
-printouts of our friends and family's comments during big moments of our lives, on Facebook, such as when we first in relationship, engaged, married, etc.
-I made sure to get pics of my family together with her family, because I know VOs like it when they see both families interact, and that's a big plus
-plenty more stuff I don't even remember

You see all this work I had to do? It's strictly because of the Singapore VO that I have to work this much harder and wait longer than someone from London VO, for example, who could just send in 20 pics and get approved in 5 months.

So please Mrs. Purcy, dont worry already!
