Police certificate

Hello everyone,

I cannot get from distance a police certificate from the Indonesian authority since I stayed more than 6 months in this country as a tourist. Do you think if I explain my case throughout a letter to IRCC and the difficulties I have in order to obtain this missing document I could be exempted to providing it? Does anyone experienced such type of challenge and how did you overcome it?

Thank you in advance for your feedback!

You totally could write up a detailed letter explaining the situation. However, if you could try applying for a police certificate from the Indonesia Police department in the mean time, that'd be save you some trouble. Would you clarify if you are applying your PR now or you're being requested to provide the PCC as an additional document?

I left my home country at the age of 20 and since then I've been living in Canada for about 10 years and never had gone back for more than 1 month whenever I paid a visit. However, the CIC was still expecting the PCC from my home country because I was over 18 there for two years.

At the moment, I am preparing all the documents that IRCC requested. I got all police certificate from others countries I visited without any problem. The only document who is missing is the police certificate from the Indonesian authority.

I tried to contact my embassy in Jakarta to support me getting this police certificate and I did not get any answers.

I tried to contact the police in Bandung (where I stayed) and I did not get any answers maybe because I do not speak the language and they did not understand why I am asking a police certificate since I am not living in the country...

I found out that there are a couple of agencies that said they can get you the certificate but you need to send them money first. I am not sure that will be the right way to deal with this issue by taking this risk.

I am turning around trying to find a solution and cannot get any and I am little bit anxious that if I do not join this document to my file I will be rejected and will not get the PR.

Submit all the documents that you can as of now. You still have time to turn in that particular one. You'll have some time to figuring multiple ways of solving the issue.

The one I applied for I had to send fingerprints from Canada and pay for it using money order.

But if you want to fasten your application, you might want to turn in everything first and submit that one later on as additional document. You've got time to do that.

Once you submit your application, you'll still have to wait for some time to get AOR, then you'll get a generic email asking for any additional documents or fee.

But like your original thought, having a detail letter explaining your missing PCC does not hurt.

Meanwhile, you should keep contacting your nearest Indonesian Embassy or Trade Office to help you get the police address in the city where you lived in Indonesia or you can ask a recommended Law Firm to help you with your request. You need to tell the police office that you need the police certificate for immigration purposes.

When you say you've tried, was in by email or on the phone? Or both? You probably want to do all of the above. The document name is Surat Keterangan Kelakuan Baik (SKKB)

Thanks Syrupmonkey for the advice! Quick question? Where did you apply to get this certificate? Can you share the contact, the document you provided as well as the amount you paid for getting the certificate? How long it takes?
I already contacted some lawyer firm but they are too much expensive and I do not trust them. I know there is a better way to get this paper but I did not find it yet. Your help would be grateful.

Thanks.

Yes law firm sounds overtly expensive. Mine wasn't from Indonesia, it was from Hong Kong. I paid ~50 CND for the certificate. It took a while because I had to scan my finger print from RCMP in Canada, then mail the finger prints along with the application form to mail it to Hong Kong. It took them about a month to do background check on me once they got my mail and the money order. Once they were done, they mailed the certificate to CIC. The whole process took a few months. Therefore I suggest you put in your paper based application with a detailed explanation of why the PCC is missing and work on getting it immediately.

I tried this link here: www .polri.go.id/layanan-skck.php[/b] to contact them. At the bottom of the webpage you have their address and number phone. The SKCK Online link is not working therefore I could not apply either online.

Yes, you're right and the letter is already ready. However, at the end of the day I have to provide CIC with this doc. All I am looking for is an official and trusted channel to get this document at a cost effective rate like you did with Hong-Kong.

That sounds super annoying, I'm sorry to hear that! The CIC website doesn't seem to provide anything useful for Indonesia PCC. Did you have a chance to take a look?
