hello, I have a question regarding police certificates. On CIC it says the following about who needs to get a police certificate.

"You must get one from each country or territory where you have lived for six or more months in a row since the age of 18. (For example, if you lived in a country for eight months but left on a two-week vacation, that counts as living there for eight months.)"

My question is as follows, My wife has studied in Ukraine for 6 years total. However, there was never a point in time when she stayed in Ukraine for longer than 2 months without leaving the country for a week or so to come back home to Poland. (We were studying in a city that was right by the border). With that in mind, is it necessary to provide a PCC from Ukraine? The vague example provided by CIC as written above is what's causing me confusion.

Many thanks

It all boils down to a simple question:

Was your wife living in Ukraine for those 6 years?

Based on what you've shared, I would have to say yes.

She will need to list her previous addresses in the application and it wouldn't make sense to show Ukraine for two months, a week or two in Poland...back to Ukraine for two months, followed by a week or two in Poland...for 6 years total, right! It sounds like she was in fact living there to me.
