Hello everybody!

I would be applying for my PR once I get my marriage certificate from the Ontario Government. However, I wish to apply for the police clearance from the Canadian Police. I am currently living in Toronto (since last 6 months, was in Alberta prior to that). What type of police certificate would be required from Ontario ( There are two types The Vulnerability Sector Check and The Criminal Record Check from RCMP?

you don't need to get a clearance from Canada, only other countries (ie: your home country and any other country you spent 6mo or more in). if CIC wants a canadian clearance, they will ask for it at a later date. more than likely it's not going to be needed. only a small amount of applicants are asked to provide this during the application process.

You don't need one from Canada unless CIC asks for one.

PCC letters are required from every country that you've lived in for 6 months or more, except Canada.

Thank you so much Ponga and CDNPR2014!

I arrived in Canada in 2013 as an international student, and therafter was working on a PGWP. Reading your responses, I will just request for a clearance certificate from the Indian authorities.
