Points for education

1 of my firends want to apply as a plumber.
he completed high school (12 years) + 7 years internship
According to CIC website to claim 20 points applicant must show A two-year diploma, trade certificate or apprenticeship AND at least 14 years of full-time or full-time equivalent study
My question is who much points he will get? will CIC count 7 year internship as full time study?

Hi Dr Hasib,

For your MBBS degree you will get only 20 points even though you have 17+ years education.

For 22 and 25 points, you will need to have at least 2 degrees from university. For examble, if someone has B.A (Pass course)+M.A, she/he will get 22 points although the total number of education is 16 years. ?This is because in the latter case there are two degrees from university level, while in your case you have only 1 degree.

Hope this explains the apparent confusion.

I missed the beginning of the thread.

But 12 year High School+7 years apprenticeship sounds unusual.

Trade courses of 1/2/3 year diplomas are often followed by 6months/1 year/2 year apprenticeship.

Moreover, I have never thought that plumbers from Bangladesh will qualify for FSW given they need to do their IELTS. No offence bro.
