Dear forum members,

I have a job offer and positive LMO.
Now I am calculation the points.
I know I will get 10 points for Arranged job offer.
But also in the section Points for adaptability there is subsection "Arranged Employment in Canada" where it states
You earned points under Factor 5: Arranged Employment.
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/factor-adaptability.asp

Does this means that if you have a job offer you can only claim 10 points under the Arranged Employment and not additional 5 points the section for Adaptability?

Hello marioneta466,

You cannot claim those additional 5 points. You can earn maximum 10 points for arranged employment.

Wrong.
You will get 10 points under Arranged employment, & again you will get 5 points in adaptability BUT, adaptability points cannot exceed 10 points. So if you have Spouse IELTS & Relative in Canada & Job Offer, instead of 15, you will get 10.

Agreed. Sorry my mistake. I didnt complete the statement after I said "You cannot claim those additional 5 points". I was supposed to add that those 5 are for the spouse if she also has an employment offer from Canada. Thank you jigzyy! :)

So If I have job offer and I don't have any relatives in Canada and my spouse doesn't have IELTS I will get 10 points for Arranged Employment and 5 points for Adaptability? In total 15 points for the job offer.

No in this case you described you get 10 points. To get those 5 points from the adaptability section your spouse also need to have employment letter from Canada.

So the additional 5 points for adaptability does not refers to the principal applicant?

If the principal applicant have job offer he/she will get only 10 points in the section for Arranged Employment, but you don't get additional 5 points in the section for adaptability?

This is strange?

In the section for adaptability nowhere it states that those 5 points are granted for you spouse.
Any opinions?

Again wrong. Those 5 points are not for spouse. Those 5 points are for arranged employment of the PRINCIPAL APPLICANT. Spouse has only 5 points and that is only for IELTS and nothing else in the new system. They do not even require spouse's educational documents, how would you justify that the job offer is for the spouse?

Adaptability means, that how likely is that you can get settled in the Canada, so having a job offer prior to landing is very likely :)

And yes, you will get 15 points for having a Job Offer.

Thanks Jigzyy

This is all very confusing.

I hope you are right. But why in the section Points for adaptability there is subsection "Arranged Employment in Canada" where it states
You earned points under Factor 5: Arranged Employment.

Meaning like you already earn points for this thing in another section. Or do I have wrong logic?

Come on jigzyy! I know you are the boss :D ..... but I disagree with you on that point. When it is saying that "You earned points under Factor 5: Arranged Employment" What does that indicate?

The arranged employment page has a big (Maximum 10 points) mentioned on top.... then why add those 5 points? I think a 2012 post should not carry more weightage than what is clearly mentioned by CIC.

Dear marioneta466

I would advise you to go for the conservative side and assume 10 points for YOUR arranged employment letter. If you do get those 5 points (which I doubt) ...it would be bonus. Remember none are experts here. Just some more experienced than others. Wish you the Best of luck
