I am applying for Express entry under federal skill worker. I fall under two NOC as per my work experience -

2173 - Software engineers and designers - A
2283 - Information systems testing technicians - B

Is there any point difference if I apply under NOC type A or B? Is NOC type A will get more point than NOC type B?

As mentioned above, NOC type doesnt matter, only length of employment. All NOC 0, A and B are treated equally in EE

Exactly. 3 years already gets you maximum points. Anything beyond that will not add any points to your profile.

Also, all foreign experience has to be within the last 10 years.

Hi Andre,
I am civil engineer by profession. I completed my BSc civil engineering in Aug 2013. I am on job since then. However, i am claiming points only for 1 year of expereince.
I worked as a "Planning Engineer" in a company from June 2015 to Aug 2016 (and then came Canada for Master study). My roles matches to NOC Code 0711 (Construction Manager) and does not match well with NOC 2131 (Civil Engineer).
.
I have selected NOC 0711 (Construction Manager) as my primary occupation. My question is:
- I perfectly understand, that for any experience, roles should match over 60-70% to NOC and title does not matter much (in my case i can have a reference letter with the title Planning Engineer with actual roles matching with NOC 0711). Right?
- My main concern: is it fine to go with NOC 0 (0711), as this is meant for managerial positions? Even though i was not actually a Manager but was a junior. I did had prior experience (from Aug 2013 to June 2015), when i started working as "Planning Engineer".
Please provide your recommendations.
.
Thanks,

Hi there, I have a similar question! I'm wondering if at any point in the application, CIC take into account any work experience in Canada that is less than one full year and not 'skilled'. I have worked as a server for probably a total of 8 months since being here on my IEC. Will I receive any credit for this? Thanks in advance for your help!
