When did you submit your application?
Ravil, I don't have a job offer yet, I am just checking if a PNP is a good option for me, trying to learn all the details about the federal level of the program. What country are you from? and What province nominated you?

Hi fellow countrymans! ;)
You are welcome to see our spreadsheet
Hello Pharmaceutist, thank you for such a valuable information. I made my own table with dates of nomination in one column and POVL in the second one, then I counted months between those dates. Am I right that its the federal level of any PNP? on average it takes 10 months for people to get their PR. That's much better than 19 months declared by CIC =)

A have 2 questions:

1. I didn't know there is an interview for PNP programs. Is it for all? or it is requested in some cases? If I am residing in Canada while the process, will they ask me for an interview in Canada or it can be anywhere in the world?

2. If a person is nominated does it mean that you will get your PR? I mean if your police checks and medicals are fine...

Thanks!

Ravil, a lot of my classmates from college moved to Saskatchewan saying that this province has the best PNP program. Did you hear something like this as well? How is it the best?

It is used to be good, now Sinp nomination getting too long for prossesing around 12 months just for nomination, I think Manitoba has bettter program than Sas.

As I know Alberta province is good for nomination as well, for me it took 7 months in 2010 now it takes 4-5 months.

wow...that's not good! in BC nomination time is up to 4 months, but from what I saw from forums, people get their approvals in 1 month.

Lisa it took you 7 months to be nominated?

Lisa, Ravil, when you are approved does it mean that you will get your PR? are there cases of refusal at the federal level?

There are some cases of refusal, for instance medical problems, police clearances etc. But I think as long as you went trhough medicals you are safe. Just my thoughts thought!

Yeah this is what I thought about, that as long as you are good with police and in a good health you will be fine. That's a good news =)

Yes, but there is no average. It is two different streams - general and strategic. Strategic is much faster and has its deadlines, 3 months for online application and 6 for paper. It`s all about Manitoba PNP of course. General includes study, job, family, friends, etc. and is much longer and compairs to other PNPs.

1. It is strategic stream, only stream that I can go through as I don`t have any job offer, study or settlement experience, frends or relatives. One can get interview with officer and if succesful recieve Invitation to apply. Then goes: application - file number - mayby request for add docs - nomination (or refusal). Manitoba is only province with programm for those who have not any connection with Canada at all. FSW backlog and students go through strategic stream too. You shall not be asked for any interview if you already in process. Possibility of it exists before POVL, but it is a rare case.
2. Yep. ;) If you are not dying and law abiding then get ready to become canadian. )

Pharmaceutist, thanks for the extensive answer. Could you please clarify, strategic stream in MPNP is still a PNP, but processing time at federal level for this stream differed from other streams?
