I strongly suggest against requesting GCMS file unless you really need it. No point in creating more backlogs for them guys! Have you read their website?! It takes about 2 months to send you the GCMS file and it's no substantial info. It's just all the files you submitted. If you think getting your GCMS file will speed up your application, I can assure you it will probably do the opposite and delay it more. You're just giving the government employees more paperwork and hence creating bigger backlogs affecting the entire process. They even posted and advisory message on their website saying they have received larger than usual requests for the GCMS file.

I suggest lets all be patient, let them do their job and hope 2016 is our year.

Good luck to all.

Hey there

Would you kindly show us the link to the advisory message on CIC's website? Never heard of that before. Also I am pretty sure, if they required lots of time to create GCMS notes then they would have charged more than $5. It's not even half of the minimal wage per hour, across the country.

Cheers.

Hello,
After paid the Right of Permanent Resident Fee, have to send the receipt to CIO-Sydney via the Case Specific Enquiry form,
in the Case Specific Enquiry form, which type of application should I choose? Thank you.

Anybody in Winnipeg done the Medical Exam recently?

I am wondering if its the CIO-sydney email address.

Can anyone advise which application type to choose in CSE ?

Also, do you do your background check with fingerprints through Commissionaires or any accredited company after receiving the reminder email?

Please share your thoughts guys.

Cheers.

The email we received recently asked us to raise cse hence we dont need to send it to any other email address.
Same issue was raised few days ago. I think you can very well choose "outside canada - pnp" as inland-pnp is not available and they never thought of sydney as full fledged visa office and not updated the site yet.

Hey buddy

I know it makes sense to select "outside canada - pnp" but if you look at the reminder email, it also says "....attach it to an email...".

" .......Once the payment process is complete, the web site will display your official receipt in PDF format.
You must send the receipt to CIO-Sydney. For fastest service, please attach it to an email and submit it via the Case Specific Enquiry form....."

My guess is either you email or submit it via the case specific enquiry form.

What do you guys think?

Best wishes.

Just now noticing in the reminder email they asked to send the copy of passport (if any) to the address (and no word to use cse) and i raised cse to send this passport copy, pcc and rprf. What do i do? SHould i wait for 2-3 weeks to see if it gets updated in my file and take a call if i need to send it to the address? I believe people changed the passport just before ppr, right, and they are asking on it to make it ready as its required at the time of ppr, correct? whats your thought/interpretation?

PASSPORTS
Passports for you and all accompanying family members must be valid at the time of visa issuance. If your passports have expired or will be expiring within the next 6 months, you must apply for new passports as soon as possible. You can send a Copy of the Biodata Page (page with photograph and name) to the following addresses below.

Hi Harirajmohan, I checked my application document list, I realized that the passport copy was requested as a required document in application package, so I think you don't have to mail it again, right?

I got 3rd line updated on my application 'Medical results have been received' Upfront medical receipt was emailed on Dec 24/15.

Yes buddy, its correct for most of us but i had to renew the passport (wife's passport) since its expiring in May2016. So the confusion now is whether to send it through post as well.
When they can ask pcc itself in cse, i dont see a reason to request this passport copy via post. I think that they still need to work on that template of the email too (apart from many other issues on cse form online, and many more :) ).

I am thinking to wait for 3 weeks and call the call center and then decide if i need to send it through post.

i agreed with you. i couldn't find any link that gcms notes takes 2 months. secondly GCMS notes released by information department
not by CIC. if mr. Jimmy noticed or not. there are so many option like (would u like to get notes for education health immigration finance
justice, food dept agriculture transportation ocean and many more ).As per my knowledge there is no negative impact to apply gcms notes because it has been issued by totally different department called
by IMFORMATION REALEASE DEPT. there is no direct or indirect connection with cic backlog or disruption at all.

I agree with delta304. There is no harm to ask for GCMS notes

Regarding processing time, below is extract of acknowledgement upon successfully submitting for GCMS

"Processing Times
- If you submitted your request outside of regular business hours, Eastern Time, the processing of your request will begin the following business day.
- If your request is complete, it will be processed within 30 calendar days from the first day following its receipt, unless an extension is taken.
- If the deadline falls on a weekend or on a holiday, the due date becomes the next business day.
Please note that due to the volume of requests that Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) processes, it is not unusual for responses to be sent late in the day of the due date. "
