Sorry for late reply..just read it today..
take your main form in your hand ( Generic form )
enter information same as form .
like name , birth date , birthplace
number of person.

Just checked MY CIC. Mine application is not showing anything in progress. I guess, this is good if they started to do the background check already. Will get it done faster.

I had linked my application on online cic account.
my Background check status shows in progress on March 10- just one day after AOR.

so we can say its normal
