HI everyone,

My apologies for off the topic question, I came here cause I believe someone from you guys must have gone thru my situation as you all are one step ahead of me. Anyways, experts please help with my querry:

I got my Alberta PNP (AINP) recently and my PGWP expires June 19,2015.Does anyone know if I can apply PR application to CIO now that I already have my nomination or do I have to wait until get the new/extended work permit first? Do they return the application if work permit is expired and I'm on implied status? Experts please reply.

you PR has nothing to do with you wp...
these r two separate applications...
but yes you wp ll b refused f you nomination is expired...better to apply fr wp as well as pr
when is ur wp expiring? fr pnp guys submitting application must hv full time job...thats a point to remember,

if your wp is valid...i hv been advised to try RIGWAY border...even if you dont hv a trv with you...
But why so hurry,,once you apply you can still work (implied status)...online is a safe game!

Honestly speaking I'm just confused which option to go for. There are a few questions for online (and for paper app) which are kinda technical. For ex:
One ques on the app says 'I am applying for one or more of the following: 1.A work permit with same employer 2. An initial wp or wp with new employer 3 Restoration of status as worker 4. Temporary Resident Permit
I am a PGWP holder of open WP and want to extend wp with the present employer im working for. Which option to select?

Second Ques: What type of wp you are applying for? - Options are: Open WP, Co-op WP, Live In Caregiver, Exempt from LMIA and Other
I want to apply for 'Closed WP' but there is no option given for that? ???

Third Ques: Duration of Expected Employment? I on a permanent full time employee and my contract expires Aug 2015 which is renewed automatically - if my employer and I wish to continue it (We both do!) - What dates do I put here?.
For this same question I just said 1year and Permanent full time - but here I asks me specific dates? :

Also the processing time for PR after nomination is 17 months! I wonder if I will get a 1 year wp or 2 year? Is there a way to aply for 2 yr ?

This is just bizarre! Can anyone help plz?

Its Simple...Forget abt 17 months...that was last year thing...keep your eyes on the present, these days economic class, pnp the PR time is not 17 months..it can take frm 6 months to 10 months, keeping a few progress of the cases in mind...
Regarding your wp, you ll apply for "Open wp" the option is not there bcz you got file #...and you r eligible to apply for open wp
The duration of employment, you should better write the dates of the new contract, if employer is willing to provide...the letter for that...OR you can write the date of "next day.." the day you fill out application form..and write the end date "that August date"...and then write a letter of explanation, what you have on mind...and they ll read your explanation!
Also, it is completly upon C|C officer for how long he/she can issue you the work permit (in case of closed) for open, you will get "2 years...Bridging"

Ohh, actually please "update" your profile" like us...we dont see your profile i might have mis-taken you for someone else profile...for the same question...

if you have not applied then yes,,,you cant get open work permit, but if your pnp lettter has no restriction, then you can apply for open otherwise if it is restrcited then closed wp...but i would recommend apply first fr PR...this way you can update them later as well of your file#

Well, It does has the name of Company I'm working for, but for restrictions, it says 'No'. I thought I was supposed to apply closed wp now? Did anyone who was PGWP holder got nominated under International Graduate EDS got an Open WP after expiry of PGWP?

I know your feelings same with mine. Cic received my application march 26 but no AOR yet. Still patiently waiting. But I pay online so i cant track on the payments anymore cause i paid it in advance. Pls. Keep us posted. Thanks
