Im an April 18, 2016 applicant..
just spoke with an agent and she said the security check isn't started yet..........
does anyone know how long it takes once it start?

I'm currently holding a closed work permit and plan to travel outside of Canada in October, so I will leave the job on Oct 6.
If the PR process is not finished until that time.. what should I do?
Do I have to stay in Canada and hang on the job?? or can I change the status to visitor?
any advise?

Did you ask them when they would start your security check as you are almost 16 months now?

I did and she said she is just a call agent so she doesnt know

Nothing yet may 16 still on requirements eligibility check it's been about a month...

Does someone know why CIC is taking soooo long for processing all the files? Are they short staffed, is it because of express entry, refugees? Atleast someone should be answerable to our questions about the delays we are facing for no reason. This is completely unacceptable. If on cic website it says 16 months processing time, then it should be 16 months, why are they taking longer than that??

BG status is in progress since 17th July 2017
eCAS hasn't updated to DM yet..so

The best and only thing we can do is WAIT..!!
