Hi,
I applied for PR through Ontario Provinical nominee program as an inland applicant with a dependent, Hopefully i will get my PR soon, sometime PR card takes more time than normal processing time so i am planning to do landing once i came back from my origin country after my vacations so i am lil bit confused that i can book a ticket from my home country to Quebec , As i heard that Quebec will not allow me for landing as i have PR from OPNP, any one have did like this before to land in Quebec after getting PR through OPNP.

Please share if any one have experience like this before.

Hi there, during border crossing for Canadian PR, if you don't have US visa, does it consider as a refusal to US ?

Please confirm thanks does it affect when you apply for us visa ? Does any body have a similar situation ?

For PR border crossing, you don't need US visa, its called Flagpoling. US border will give you Administrative refusal.

And, yes it will NOT officially affect you to enter USA, but remember its refusal...

Congrats im june 15 applicant... Hopefully i can get my ppr soon too.. And all remaining june applicants. Can i ask when is your mr? Thanks

I am June 15 too waiting for PPR. May I ask when you did MR? And if you have a defendant/spouse in your application? I think that's also one factor that slows processing time, isn't it? Thanks!

HI,

I am not exactly sure what you are trying to do. You mean you're going on vacation to your country before getting PR card? Or, you will go on vacation after you have PR card? you cannot land if you don't have CIC letter that states you can land (I forgot the name of document but it comes after your passport request).

Once you land with the letter, as I know, you can't leave Canada until you have your PR card. They say it takes usually 6~8weeks to get PR card after landing.

And, once you have the letter that I stated above, you can land anywhere in Canada. It doesn't matter how you got your PR through which province. Once it is issued by federal government (CIC), you can land through any province as it is a federal thing.
I hope I understand your question in a right way. :)

My Question is that once i got my PPR and then i will land in december when i am coming back from my home country so is it possible that i can land in Quebec because i heard that Quebec didnt allow to land if you have PR through OPNP .

The answer is YES. You can use any port in Canada to land with your landing paper. I've never heard of Quebec not allowing OPNP landing at their port. I've looked up for this and I found nothing about this. As long as Quebec is a part of Canada, you should be fine.

I just want to be clear one thing. The process is PPR->Landing paper->PR card. You CANNOT land with PPR. You CAN land with Landing Paper. Then, the immigration at the port of Entry (Quebec in your case) will ask few questions (or not, some are nice not to ask anything but address). Along with other documents, you must present a proof of your address (they need your address so they can send you a PR card). Such as ID with your address in destination province, bills etc. If they ask questions, you just need to be clear that you will live in Ontario, not Quebec because your PR is through Ontario PNP. That's all they care. It would be good if you have connecting flight to Ontario or train ticket or solid plan to go to Ontario.

I hope it helps.

Best of luck to everyone this week, I believe good things are coming your way!

Lets hope together for some MR in this week!!!

Hello my friend,

I think i understand your question. Are you trying to land in Quebec and stay there for a while? Well, if that's your plan, the onus remains on you to show that you are in fact heading for Ontario, as you you would need to have a connecting flight to Ontario or a bus ticket. You could actually be denied the right of landing if you intend to settle in Quebec instead of Ontario where you have been nominated. In reality, once you land, you can move anywhere in canada as then you would be covered by the Canadian charter of rights. CBSA has the legal right to refuse you entry in Quebec if you don't show that you would be heading to Ontario as nominated as this would be counted as misrepresentation by IRCC.
