None whatsoever.

At the border, I was asked...

- how long were you away?
- what's the value of the goods you have brought back with you?
- any alcohol or tobacco?
- any firearms or ammunition?

Then, in the office, I was asked...

- where's 'home' right now? (Winnipeg)
- where was home before you moved to Canada? (London)
- when did you move to Canada (2013)
- do you have any 'settlers effects' to follow? (no, everything is already in Canada)
- do you have any other work permits/documentation from CIC? (no, the currently valid one is in the passport - the previously valid one was taken out by a border officer when I flagpoled last)

He ran me through the questions on the COPR, to which I needed to answer 'no', and initial them, then asked me to sign both copies - he kept the one with the photo, and the one without was stapled into my passport alongside a stamp which had my PR number on it. He stated that I could use my COPR in my passport to cross land or marine borders, but not air borders, until I receive my PR card. Once I have the card, I should remove the COPR and store it safely - that's your proof of landing, and will be needed for applying for citizenship.

He then ran me through a list of things new permanent residents should know (residence requirements, being unable to vote or run for political office, how long to wait until applying for citizenship, waiting up to 12 weeks for my PR card). Then we had a chat about the bureaucracy of the immigration process, the stupid delays, the weird ways in which CIC works, the fact the guys at the border can do nothing about it...

Finally, he shook my hand, congratulated me, and welcomed me to Canada!

The whole process - from driving up to the booth, to leaving again in the car, took less than 30 minutes. :)
So far the most detailed reported progress I have ever read, thanks for sharing. but some questions were relevant to your motherland, so I guess it wont be applied to other PR.

congrats :) :) :).... I am still waiting for PPR
Thank you and just be patient, your PPR is on the way!

One more question, I took photos at Costco and they stamped on the back of the photo. But there is a line for guarantor's signature which the girl did not sign. Do I need to get the signature?

Thanks!

When I send the photos for PCC, it was with the signature. you just get the signature to be safe from your side.

Sorry i dont know much about maintaining status on work permit hence let us wait for more comments from our inlanders.
Border officials want to hear if the candidate stays inside the country as per rules. But dont be in hurry to land before clearing it out. Mostly they wont ask but we want to be sure before we head out.
The thing I know for SINP is the applicant should stay with the same company (sponsor) until he/she get the PR. If he/she quit or laid off the process of PR might be terminated. But, if the company did not contact CIC and tell the truth, the applicant could be safe. I know a girl of my friend she was laid off couple months before she got PPR, but I don't know what she said at landing. Some people might got refused at landing so I think you should prepare well for landing questions.

Niceee, that sounds so goood! Your officer seemed to be very friendly. Thank you so much for sharing the overall experience in detail. All the best Aniarmhi for your new life as a permanent resident in Canada :)

You should expect your PPR now. If your BG changed to in progress and ECAS shows 'Decision Made', then they have already approved your application but just forgot to send the PPR email. It happened to one of the April applicants on this forum before where she got DM before PPR. May be call them and ask. But hey Congrats in advance!

Costco said they can't sign for me since the guarantor should be someone know me at least 2 years. So I need to find a friend sign on the back of the photo?
