Congratulations, can you please update of when your BG check changed to "In Progress" ?

is it better to link my paper application to online account? coz the check application status tool only shows basic info.would i still receive my PPR request by email?

nothing. this morning I called cic they told me my background check security was completed. Decision to be made. No dates for that. could be tomorrow, could be next week, could be in 2 months, who knows.

You are totally right.... My assessments are all completed in late april 2016. Since then they haven't worked anything. I am glad MP found out everything and she also said that my file is lying there and is under final review now. My file sat on pile of other files for 4 months.... so frustrating....

did she tell you or did you find out anything about when they are going to review it to make a decision? They should make it before Sept 25th if they want to be within the procesing time....

my MP contacted CIC 2 weeks ago and they havent responded yet. THey should get back in 5 business days...

it depends on they type of immigration program you used to obtained you visa, permanent residence applicants will use 3 years in canada, then they will apply for citizenship, now during that 3 years, u must not have any criminal case, drug cases, etc to apply for citizenship

Just a quick question guys, after receiving PR card, do you need to renew it sometime or do you just apply for citizenship after how many years?

I think how it works is that PR card is usually given to you for about 5 years. Withing these 5 years you should be able to apply for citizenship, if you spend 1,460 days in Canada which equals to 4 years. And whenever you leave the country within these 4 years your wait time extends and if you exceed the time given on your PR card (5 yrs) you can apply for its renewal. This is my understanding..
