Hi Hariraj,
Thank you for replying. You bring some interesting points here. I have a USA b1/b2 multiple entry visitor visa. I probably drove to Seattle 3 times last year all for less than 24 hrs for tourism. I am not worried about entry in the US. I have friends there and I can give them the address of where I am staying or even better just tell them honestly that I am getting picked up so I can drive to Canada without a PR card. My concern is whether airport people in Australia will let me board the flight to US because I don't actually live in the US but using it as a transit country. I would hope that they couldnt legally stop me from going to a country I am allowed to go to. BTW, do you know what the rules are and what document we need in order to do a land entry in a Car.

Also, how long do we have after the COPR comes to land. Is it 30 days or longer. Maybe I can just go to Australia and then come back and land for the first time at Calgary airport instead of doing the drive landing at Coutts border.

Thank you for your time buddy.
At AUS: You should say that you are first entering US for a day and then going to Canada by road. I dont see that they will create issue as long as the visa is valid.
For US: They just want to verify if the real destination is Canada. So have your work stuff (recent payslips or employer letter or any other document which has strong ties to Canada and document related to the location where you currently stay), have your rental car booked for just showing it at border (i know you have your friends' car but you cant have your travel shown on paper to the final location where you plan to go), nothing more i guess. As you wont stay for more than a day, i dont think you require funds proof (but you can take your bank statement just in case).

Q: how long do we have after the COPR comes to land? Is it 30 days or longer?
A: What do you mean? There is no time limit to use your COPR to use travel via road. Is there any time limit?

Hey guys,

I have a question!
I gor COPR and my last entry to canada is 2014 april on the letter. But now my last entry is 2015 june or something because I traveled out of canada since I applied PR(I applied in 2015 January)
Do you think it would be a problem? Let's say if the officer asks me when my last entry was, was it supposed to be the same answer as what it's written on COPR?
I'm so confused :'(

Also I'm planning to go to my country in march for a month so I was thinking of applying for PRTD to re enter to canada when I'm In my country. Do you think it's possible? or should i go to border for landing first? Please help me :(
If you could tell me how long it will take to get PRTD, it would be awesome!
Thank you!

When did CIC receive your passport? I sent my passport on 27th January but the return tracker hasn't been activated.

Received by CIC on the 22nd! You should be in next week lot. I have noticed they only send passports once a week. (please somebody correct me if I'm wrong)

Hi! there is word 'carried away' or frenzy feeling emotions cause by extreme excitement and that's normal because we're HUMAN!

Indeed...having a PR Visa and COPR on hand is a LIFE CHANGING MOMENT for most of us I think. But, I am not sure about you?

After all, this the purpose of this forum!!! Just appreciate people sharing experiences in giving light to others and please RESPECT their thoughts!

You sound like a woman who just got screwed over by an emotionally unavailable man. LOL.

Did you even understand my last comment?? My point exactly was to maintain the purpose of this forum. For questions, answers, confusions.

I was telling those whiny crying babies to stop filling this entire forum with comments about some bloody Tracker Activation, got it???
Because people check this forum with a lot of hope for every additional comment. I don't want them wasting their times.

Better than PR car renewal processing time of 180 days. Post PR is manageable.

Yeah it's a joke !!

BTW, my passport actually arrived already. So I'll go on the weekend. Still deciding between Coots and Carway. Will let you know how it goes and will give tips if needed!!!

From what I've read all you need is your passport and current work permit, so I won't take any unnecessary paperwork.

A quick question guys.
So my passport arrived in Ottawa. But its not delivered yet. The status says "Item Available to pick up".
Do you think CIC will go and pick it up?
is it a standard procedure or just happened to me?

Thanks

PPR JANUARY 28.

My tracker got activated as well!
Sent the documents with passport copy last week on Thursday, Jan 28. Delivered to CIC on Friday and already on the way back to me with COPR!

That's an extremely quick processing time.

Mine was signed by an officer even though I didn't requested a signature. However, it looks like when the documents aresent to a PO BOX, it will be picked up by somebody at some point.
