Hey guys,

I'm helping out a friend here. He has just received his PNP File number yesterday which they say will take 8-12 weeks to process. His visa however, is due to expire in a month and he would prefer to carry on working rather than flying home to his native country to wait for the nomination to (hopefully) come through. I've heard that applying for an LMO would put him on implied status allowing him to continue working while they review his application? Is this true or can anyone tell me what his options are?

Thanks dudes and I hope you're all doing well. :)

If your friend is nominated by PNP, then he doesn't need LMO to renew his work permit.

From what you wrote, it seems your friend has just submitted his application for provincial nomination and he's been given file number. what status does he currently have in canada? is he a visitor? is he currently working on a work permit? The link should be able to help you!

Thanks for the replies guys

He's currently on the second year of a 2 year temp working visa so he has less than a month left on it.
