Seniors,

I am a little bit proactive to ask this question...

My wife is staying in my native country right now and I am in USA. We got our medical request today. So I am sending her the copy attached with her picture so that she can complete her medical independently from my native country and sent it to Ottawa.
Although, LA office suggested me that me and my dependents should complete our medicals together.. but whatelse I can do?

The real problem that might come is if everything goes well... and they ask for passports... then what we should do? Some are telling passports need to be send together, some are mentioning issues about sending passport by mail cross country and so n so.....

What could be a wise option for me and my wife? She was on F-2 but she had to leave as her visa expiration date was approaching. Now we have no option that she will come back to USA in near future.

I am asking this beforehead so that I take measure prompty when the situation will arrive.

Thank you

She will need to send the Passport to Visa office which I believe is LA in this case. Sending PP across borders via post may be an issue, it is illegal in India

Can she apply for B1/B2 and visit you so that you can send the passports together

Thanks
Ankit

As long as your country allows passports to be sent out of the country by mail or courier you don't have a problem. I believe it is only in India where you are not allowed to do so and your passport is cancelled if caught. From the posts given here , Indians usually circumvent that by having friends hand carry the passport with an authorizing letter which is perfectly legal.

At your PPR time get your wife to send it across to you and its better to then send it all together. Will probably be better and easier for you. All passports processed together and not in different stages.

Thanks Sisifo. Thats a good idea.
