Dear fellows,

I sent my initial application to NS on September 8, 2009. After sending the application, I realized that i made a mistake in Background Declaration form. In Question No 9 I shud have marked part 3 ( i was denied a UK pr visa); instead, out of sheer stupidity, I marked part 4 (cuz at the time i thought part 3 applies only to canada visa). Application reached NS on September 15. Now I want to know how costly this mistake is and wht shud I do about it:

1. Sit back and hope NS ppl. will realize this and will treat it in tht context.
2. Email them about this mistake. My concern is do they really check their emails? I also need the contact email address of NS ?
3. Email them and also send them an explanation letter with a updated Schedule 1 form

I also want to know how a denied visa gonna go on your application? Is someone with a history of visa refusal form any country, got canada pr visa??

Dear Don't worry just wait for your initial AOR from sydney and afterwords while sending complete case to local CHC correct your mistake.

If I was you I woudnt tell CIC about the UK visa refusal (of course unless you have to show them a document that proves it e.g. your pasport), but if you want to stay unnecessarily honest like some people do, then wait and correct the mistake on the next set of forms which you will be required to submit AGAIN once you receive a request for detailed documentation.

Thnx for optimistic replies jojobaba and Tonsils Hockey

I actually told CIC about my visa refusal in initial app and also attached letter from IO tht I received. I just marked a wrong choice and was wondering if they interpret it in that sense. if you review the Question No 9 part 3 and 4 of the Background Declaration form, u'll know what i mean. and jojobaba i am just worried tht my application actually make it to the second stage and doesn't fall victim to this mistake. :(

I submitted my application Feb 17, 2015 and got no reply yet from CIC.

Regarding question 6d: "been refused of.. visa, to Canada or any other country?' I've been refused a tourist US visa last January 2015.

I did not mean to answer this questions wrong or falsely, but at the time I did not think that the "any other country" was listed in question 6d, that is why I originally answered no to the question.

Please advise me what the best thing to do.... :-[

Hello everyone!

At the latter part of my application process, I was asked to submit again Background Declaration Form and that time I answered it correctly. Now, I'm a PR. So it's not a big deal.
