hi my friends i have a stupid problem,,i m a refugee its approved,medical and PR fees the 490 is gone only chest x ray left coz i m pregnent,,now my problem for all the last year i have valid workpermit,,till now but i dont realize i have to renewal my sin every year plus my employer never ask me for that and for last seven year i m working on the same place,,so now i m scared to apply for metrinty leave coz if they find out i didnt upgrade may b they gonna think its a cheating and i cant afford any thing on my record coz for sure now they r doing back ground check for me,,any suggestion guys otherwise the only option i have to loss my money and not gonna apply for met leave,,,thanks in advanced,,

If you still have a valid work permit you should be able to go to Service Canada and get your SIN extended, too. Take proof with you that you've had a valid work permit all this time, just in case they need that, but it's understandable that you didn't know to extend it. I also have a SIN with the same expiration as my work permit. I have applied to extend my work permit, but until I get a new one, I don't think I've got what I need to get my SIN extended, too. I've also not had anybody tell me I need to go to Service Canada to get a new expiration date for the SIN, and my employer doesn't even remember when my work permit was set to expire. I'm currently working under "implied status" and I guess I'll go to Service Canada when I finally get my new work permit. But I bet they see this all the time.

thanks but i m thinking what if they think its wrong and take it as a criminal offence coz write now i only have first approvel

Call 18002067218 and select option 3 for SIN inquiries. I'm pretty sure that if you have extended your work permit, you will be fine to have the SIN expiry renewed/extended.
