I am having the same issue.

If I put 2015/05 to 2018/05
then 2015/01 to 2015/05
I get error on the year of 2015/01.
this is frustrating;
I tried changing the months around but it keeps on going to the year
Can you not put 2 separate entries for the same year? or you can be working and studying at the same time will the form not take this?

Any help would appreciate
Hey,

We ended up eliminating any overlapping time frames and that worked for us. Not a well set up pdf validation feature.

Hello everyone,
I am really hoping someone can help me out with IMM5669 form. My mom is sponsoring me and she applied by mailing the application, however, CIC emailed me and told me to create an online account and that I should link my application to it. When I did so, it said that I need to fill out this form. I did but when I try to validate it, it is sending me to question 6, Personal History but everything is correct. t said that I must put the years first and then the months but when I did it, it's still not validating. For example, I put 2017 10( I cant put the dash in between the year and month because it does not allows its).

The imm5669 form that I have is the recent one (06-2017)

Check for gaps between 2 sets of dates. Check for dates out of order (I can't remember if they need to be listed newest to oldest or oldest to newest). Make sure you have 10 years of history (or starting from your 18th birthday).
I've also heard that sometimes the form gets corrupted and it won't validate no matter what unless you start the form over fresh.

Hey, thanks for responding to my post. I am going to post what I have on the form:

2017-12 to 2018-01 visitor/Cayman Islands
2016-ongoing Student/ Colbourne college
2013-09 to 2016-06 Institute of academic excellence
2008-09 to 2013-06 Innswood High

That is all I have done/been doing for the past 10years. But it is not validating.

In "Personal History" you can't have any gaps in your dates. So you need to select from the drop down what you were doing in the summer of 2013. Working? Unemployed? Travelling?. Also, I think the "Ongoing" is conflicting with your visit to the Cayman Islands.

I think what you need to do is

2018-01 to ongoing Student/ Colbourne college
2017-12 to 2018-01 visitor/Cayman Islands
2016-09 to 2017-12 Student/ Colbourne college (though you may need to account for summer break in 2017)
2013-09 to 2016-06 Institute of academic excellence
missing 2013-06 to 2013-09
2008-09 to 2013-06 Innswood High

It is still not validating. Its having problems with the year I put for my visit to cayman islands and the date for 2018-01 to ongoing student/colbourne college. I am wondering if i should take out my visit to cayman islands and see if it will validate

please explain how did it work for you? I have the same issue
What I did was just simply give what I was doing since I turned 18. Keep in mind if you have been going to school, you need to give what you were doing during the summer break. So if you were at home doing nothing, simply put unemployed.

Question #1: I've read all the threads, nothing seems to be working to validate my form.

Form name: http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/pdf/kits/forms/eIMM5669E.pdf IMM 5669 (11-2018) E

Section 6, Personal History
Two top most recent entries - dates:
2018-08 - ONGOING (X)
2018-07 - 2018-08

For the first one I've tried changing on going to the current month and year - still nothing - it also has issues with the start date year, if I make it 2017 I don't get a red box - same for the second entry - the start year has to be 2017 for it to not give me a red box (only for start dates not end dates).

For the second entry I have also tried to change it from 2018-07 till 2018-07 so that it doesn't overlap with the first entry being 2018-08, but that doesn't work and there are other overlapping entries in the form too. I feel this form is still facing a lot of technical glitches.
My form is now 12 pages long and I cannot redo this again. I've already started from scratch once before.

PLEASE HELP!

Question #2: My husband is sponsoring me - he has a Canadian PR - The form clearly says spouse or common-law partner, if applicable ... In my view he doesn't need to fill this, he says he needs to ... what's the right way to go? Don't worry your answer will not affect our relationship =)

hi everyone! sorry for bringing up the old topic, but I am struggling with eIMM 5669 right now, and it just won't validate because of personal history section.

I've tried many combinations, but in my case a lot of things overlap. It only validates when I put basic stuff, like my studies than job after studies, but it's just a little piece of what I did - students exchanges abroad, work while studying, long travels (coming to canada during summer breaks to visit my bf). Basically, it won't let me put things which I've done while formally having a student status.

So I was thinking of putting there just my studies and when it comes other stuff which I've done while having a student status, like work and significant travels (exchange, summers in canada etc.) I would list that all in a separate explanation letter.

My question - is there someone here who did that and it worked and the form and separate letter of explanation were accepted with no further problems??
