Hi,

This is Ishan. I am from India. I am applying for FSW Canadian Immigration this year as a Business Analyst. I have 3 years+ work experience. The company where I have worked last (7 months) is not ready to give the job reference letter in our required format. The company is ready to give me a reference letter in their own standard format where they will not mention my job responsibilities. I requested them several times through mails but they denied to mention my job responsibilities in their reference letter. I have my offer letter, release letter and payslips with me to prove my work experience. So, please advice what can I do? Will the reference letter without my job duties plus my other documents will be sufficient to prove my work experience or the job duties are mandatory. Please give your valuable suggestions.

Kind Regards-
Ishan

The following is the route that applicants generally take (for a given company) depending on which condition is met:

- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities from the HR or the Designated Supervisor on a Company Letterhead OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on an Affidavit by a Senior/Supervisor with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on an Affidavit by a Colleague with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc OR
- Letter of Reference/Experience with Duties and Responsibilities on a Self Sworn Affidavit with the supporting documents including Employment Contract, Appraisal, Pay Stubs etc

Note - The lower the option you have to settle for, the weaker your case is going to get when CIC evaluates your application.

.if possible ask your previous boss or some colleague of that company to provide you such letter with their sign and stamp ..otherwise the detailed stuff you have is enough as a proof but its better you to prepare self explanatory letter on plain paper by yourself and attach .along with the all the conversation on emails with that company ( must attach ). it will work dont worry CIC officers understand such situations. i have seen such cases in 2013
